August television services outage

July 31, 2018

The planned upgrades on television services (both Philo and traditional cable) across campus are underway. Traditional cable TV services are actively being transferred to the new system on a building-by-building basis.

After a building is transferred, all TVs must be rescanned to bring in the new channels. Since IT Services does not track all TV locations, rescanning is the responsibility of the end user (and if you're reading this, that’s you!). Therefore, in the event your TV is not working, it may be due to the transfer. Simply performing a channel scan should restore services. (Please refer to this Knowledge Base article for troubleshooting instructions.)

Philo service (RE: Residence Life): Philo will be unavailable August 2 and August 3. All resident halls and resident students will be impacted.  Philo services will be restored to all buildings (including residence halls) by end of day Friday, August 3. You should not have to do anything once Philo is turned back on.

We will continue to update this page if anything changes.
