MyHeritage Data Compromise

Miami was recently notified that the breach suffered by family networking and genealogy website MyHeritage.com could impact current and former members of the Miami community. 

The breach, which was discovered in summer 2018, happened in late 2017 and affected approximately 92 million MyHeritage.com users.

If you have used MyHeritage.com in the past,  there are some things you can do to help protect yourself.

  • If you have used the MyHeritage.com password for other sites you use, please change the password on those sites ASAP.
  • If the password you used for MyHeritage.com is the same password used for your MUnet account, please change your MUnet password ASAP.
  • If you receive an unexpected Duo notification that you did not initiate, your Miami account password may have been compromised. You should deny the alert and change your password ASAP.
