Google updates: Meeting and sharing just got easier

In the interest of increasing productivity and helping users stay connected, Google has been semi-regularly rolling out updates to its products. Here are the next two that Miami users will see:

Google Meet

You may have noticed a new feature in your Gmail inbox recently. Google added the ability to schedule and start meetings right from Gmail, and the change appeared in Miami inboxes last week. On the left-hand side of your inbox, you will see icons indicating you can join or start a meeting. According to Google, this will help you seamlessly switch between methods of communication—increasing productivity and saving time.

Sharing updates

Google is also pushing out some updates to the sharing features in G Suite Apps, and Miami users will start seeing them near the end of May 2020. The sharing interface (what happens when you click the “Share” button on Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms) is getting a facelift, which will make it easier to share files only with the intended audience.
