Parking uptown to be affected next week
All metered spaces along Park Place East and West will be affected
Oxford officials say 89 parking spaces in the uptown area will be unavailable Tuesday, Feb. 27, and Wednesday, Feb. 28, due to filming of the Sylvester Stallone action movie, “Alarum.”
The area includes meters along Park Place East and West, as well as the city parking lot, and some spots along North Main Street and West Church Street. There will also be road closures in this area.
Businesses will remain open during filming, but short delays can be expected getting to and from them, according to the city. The production crew has been working with the Oxford Police Department to ensure safety and to keep delays to a minimum.
Filming will also occur on Feb. 24, and March 1-2, but these will be in interior locations with limited parking interruptions.
