Minimalists to address Miami community

Netflix stars and bestselling authors will deliver the 2025-26 PCLS keynote speech

The Minimalists will address the Miami University community on April 14 to cap the 2025-26 Presidential Career and Leadership Series.

Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus, Emmy-nominated Netflix stars and New York Times-bestselling authors, will share how minimalism can help people live and work meaningfully. The Harry T. Wilks Theater doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 7 p.m.

Directly following the Minimalists’ keynote speech, a reception and book signing will take place in the Armstrong Student Center Atrium. Guests will be treated to hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and beverages.

The first 100 Miami students who RSVP to attend will receive a free copy of “Everything That Remains.” A No. 1 bestseller, this critically acclaimed memoir is “the touching, surprising story of what happened when one young man decided to let go of everything and begin living more deliberately.”

The Minimalists have published multiple books that discuss how clearing the clutter can make room for more. The Minimalists Podcast currently has over 500 episodes on everything from “Job Your Love” to “Social Media Clutter.”

“Minimalism” opened as the top indie documentary of 2016 and is currently available on YouTube. Another documentary, “Less Is Now,” can be viewed on Netflix.

More information about this event, including dedicated registration links for Miami students and community members, can be found on the Center for Career Exploration and Success’s PCLS Spring Keynote Speaker page.

The 2025-26 Presidential Career and Leadership Series also featured career treks to Cincinnati and Columbus. A third career trek to Cleveland is scheduled for the upcoming spring break; students can register to be included on this event’s waitlist.
