Regional Students Seeking to Take One or Two Courses on the Oxford Campus
Regional students seeking to take one or two courses in Oxford, while remaining a regional campus student with the majority of credit hours at the regional locations, must meet the following criteria:
- Completed at least 16 graded credit hours from Miami University Regionals in 100+ level courses.
- NOT INCLUDING: Post-Secondary, College Credit Plus, AP, CLEP, credit/no credit, or transfer credits).
- Please note, winter term grades are not posted until after spring semester begins; for this reason, winter term does not count towards spring permission to register at Oxford.
- NOT INCLUDING: Post-Secondary, College Credit Plus, AP, CLEP, credit/no credit, or transfer credits).
- Cumulative GPA not less than 2.0.
- An acceptable conduct record.
- Completed at least one fall or spring semester at a Miami Regionals campus.
- English Language Center (ELC) students must complete ENG 109 course at their home campus.
Regional students who meet these requirements should submit the Permission to Register form.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This does NOT register you for the courses, it only grants permission to register for the specific requested course(s) during your designated Oxford registration time ticket.
If the course(s) for which you were approved to register is closed/full by your registration time, visit the Change of Campus portal to edit your course selections. You may also contact the Regional One Stop at RegOneStop@MiamiOH.edu with questions related to your request.
Regional Students Seeking to Take All or the Majority of Their Courses on the Oxford Campus
Regional campus students seeking to take all, or the majority, of their credit hours at the Oxford campus (becoming an Oxford campus student), must meet the following requirements:
- Completed at least 16 graded credit hours from Miami University Regionals in 100+ level courses.
- NOT INCLUDING: Post-Secondary, College Credit Plus, AP, CLEP, transfer credit, or credit/no credit).
- Please note, winter term grades are not posted until after spring semester begins; for this reason, winter term does not count towards spring requirements to change to the Oxford campus.
- Cumulative GPA not less than 2.0.
- An acceptable conduct record.
- English Language Center (ELC) If the first three criteria have been met, students may take courses at the Oxford campus, but ENG 109 must be taken at their home campus.
- At least one fall or spring semester must be completed with a Miami Regional campus.
- Required: Complete the Regional Student Change to Oxford Campus form.
- Recommended: Oxford Change of Campus Advising: Students taking the majority of their credit hours in Oxford are encouraged to meet with an Oxford Academic Advisor about their degree requirements. More information is available on the Regional Advising website.

- Visa Transfer - Contact the International Students and Scholar Services office as early as possible in the process.

- Select “Change of Campus I-20 Transfer”
Living on Campus
- Required: On-Campus Housing for Students 21 and under
- Visit the Campus Services website for information about Oxford Campus residency requirements and exemptions.
- Students over 21 are exempt from living on campus in Oxford, and campus housing is not guaranteed for students over 21 or who have spent at least two years on another campus.
Oxford Students Seeking to Take One or Two Courses on the Regional Campuses
Oxford campus students seeking to take one or two classes on the Regional campus while remaining an Oxford campus student may register for on-campus classes at Hamilton, Middletown, and Voice of America Learning Center generally without special permission. However, in the case of some Regional online courses, Oxford campus students are restricted from registering or joining waitlists until restrictions are lifted as follows:

Some Regional online classes are always restricted to Oxford Campus students. Oxford students should consult with their Chief Departmental Advisor for assistance and additional information.
Oxford campus students who are officially declared in a Regionals (CLAAS) major or minor may fill out the Permission to Register form to request access to a Regionals online course(s). The student’s Degree Audit will be checked, and if the request for access is approved and seats are available, the student will be added to the course. If the request for access is approved and no seats are available, the student will be added to the waitlist or instructed to utilize the ROR system. Oxford Students Seeking to Take All or the Majority of Their Courses on the Regional Campuses
Oxford students seeking to take all, or the majority of their credit hours at the regional campuses can request a change of campus for one semester by submitting the Change of Campus form. Oxford students seeking to relocate to the regional campuses for more than one consecutive semester should also complete this form. The deadline to submit the form is the last day of the corresponding term.
Students must not reside in campus housing and must have registration of over 50% registered regional credit hours for the term. Students with fewer than 68 Miami hours will be charged lower division regional fees while students with 68 or more hours will be charged upper division regional fees. Students enrolled beginning Fall, 2018 or after, should view rates based on Miami’s Tuition Promise.
International students MUST also do the following:
Contact the International Students and Scholar Services office to change your location in the U.S. An IE hold is placed on the student account until the paperwork is processed as students can lose their student Visa status if the paperwork is not completed.

Oxford Registration Time Ticket
There are restricted days and times to register for Oxford classes. After your Oxford Permit or Change to Oxford Campus requests are approved, follow the steps below to determine your registration time ticket for the Oxford course(s):
- Log into Banner Self Service
- Select “Registration”
- Select “Prepare for Registration”
- Select the term from the drop-down menu and then click the “Continue” button
Oxford Campus Housing
All full-time first year students and second year students are required to live on campus through the spring semester of their second academic year of enrollment. Students who (1) are over 21 years of age by the first day of class; (2) reside with their parents, legal guardians, spouses or dependent children (affidavit required); or (3) have matriculated full-time for at least two years at another institution of higher education or a regional campus (credits must be earned after graduating high school) are exempt from this requirement.
Students seeking an exemption to this requirement must submit the Residency Requirement Exemption application to the Campus Services Center before the beginning of the semester for which the exemption is sought. Please do not sign a housing contract if you plan to apply for an exemption. You will not be eligible to file an exemption if you have a signed contract on file for the term of which you wish to be exempt. Fraternity exemptions are coordinated through the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life and Leadership.
