Miami offers a variety of resources to help military-affiliated students during their college journey, no matter which branch you decide to attend.

Student Veterans Center (Oxford)

Located at Wells Hall, 301 E. Spring St., Oxford, OH 45056, the Student Veterans Center is open 24/7 for military-affiliated students. Handicapped-accessible, its amenities include meeting and leisure space, as well as a television, refrigerator and storage lockers. Contact or the One Stop at 513-529-0001 for more information.

Center for Veterans Services (Regional)

The goal of the Center for Veterans Services, located on the Hamilton and Middletown campuses, is to provide support for the best possible collegiate experience for our student veterans, preparing them for their post-military role in society. For more information, visit the Center for Veterans Services website.

Student Success Center (Oxford)

The Student Success Center can provide assistance to a number of special student populations in solving complex problems, including active military, veterans, and their benefit-eligible dependents.

Student Veterans of America

Miami is home to three Student Veterans of America chapters, one on each campus. These chapters are listed on the HUB. There is a designated advisor for each campus:

Military-Affiliated Group (MAG)

The Military-Affiliated Group (MAG) is a committee of faculty and staff across all of Miami’s campuses. It provides support for military-affiliated students and has a strong affiliation with the three Student Veterans of America chapters.

Miller Center for Student Disability Services

The Miller Center for Student Disability Services (SDS) coordinates accommodations, auxiliary aids, support services and resources for students on Miami’s Oxford and Regional campuses. The SDS serves a diverse group of students including those with physical, vision, hearing, psychiatric, medical, neurological, learning, and cognitive disabilities, as well as autism spectrum and ADHD. It also coordinate temporary accommodations for students who experience significant injury or illness.

Exceptional Transportation Needs

The Parking and Transportation Office can accommodate exceptional transportation needs when granting parking permits for Miami’s Oxford and Regional campuses. Reach out to your designated campus office for more information.

Graduation Recognition

Graduating student veterans and military-affiliated students are presented with a military honor cord and challenge coin in an official ceremony hosted by members of Miami’s Military-Affiliated Group (MAG). If you have not applied for VA education benefits, please make your service known by completing the Military Services Eligibility Form so you can be recognized at graduation.

Green Zone Training

As part of its commitment to support military-affiliated students, Miami offers Green Zone Training to faculty and staff. The program was created in 2016 by student veterans Adam Rose and Phillip Carr with assistance from staff members.
