Research Support
This policy affirms University support for faculty research and creative activity.
Securing External Support for Projects in Research, Instruction, and Public Service
This policy governs proposals seeking external support in the form of a contract, grant, or cooperative agreement, whether from a public or private funding source. Approval by the Office for the Advancement of Research and Scholarship (OARS)is required.
Management of Conflicts of Interest in Projects with External Funding
This policy requires investigators on proposals to all external agencies, public and private, to disclose ,prior to the submittal of the proposal, any significant financial interest (including those of spouse and dependent children) that would reasonably appear to be affected by the activities proposed for funding.
Conflicts of Interest/Commitment
This policy establishes the standards of ethical conduct for employees based on the Ethics Laws of the State of Ohio. The policy also defines conflict of interest and conflict of commitment and designates the General Counsel as the Chief Ethics Officer. Questions on matters involving sponsored research conflicts of interest, should be directed to the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School.
Intellectual Property
This policy governs the intellectual property rights of faculty, staff, and students in works protected by copyright, patent, or other means. 
Participation in Companies Commercializing University Research
This policy governs the process for employees who create intellectual property owned by Miami University who desire to hold an ownership interest in a firm, corporation, or other association to which the Board of Trustees has assigned, licensed, transferred, or sold the University interest in discoveries or inventions made or created by that employee or in patents issued to that employee commercializing his or her research.
The Use of Human Subjects, Animals, Radiation, Chemicals, and Recombinant DNA in Research
This policy governs all research involving the use of human subjects, laboratory animals, radiation, chemicals and recombinant DNA to ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations.

This policy defines misconduct in research and governs the process for investigating allegations of misconduct in research.
Export Control
This policy governs export control. Export control laws restrict certain types of information, technologies, and commodities that can be transmitted overseas to individuals, including U.S. citizens, or made available to foreign nationals on U.S. soil.
