Parking
All university parking lots will be open to the public during the commencement weekend except for designated no-parking areas. If graduates or their guests require special accommodations, see disability-related needs information below. Additional Handicap spaces will be added for the event.Security
Bags and containers that are carried into the event area may be subject to search.
Seating
Ushers will direct guests to their seats. Guests may not reserve seats.
Disability-Related Needs
All commencement venues are wheelchair accessible, and ushers are available to assist visitors to the designated seating area. Ushers will have wheelchairs available to escort individuals in and out of the ceremony if such assistance is needed. One companion will be permitted to sit with an individual who needs disability seating.
Accommodations for those who are Deaf/HOH are provided at all ceremonies in the form of American Sign Language interpreters and captioning. If assistance is needed during the ceremony or in locating services, please ask an usher. Concessions
Concession Services will offer beverages for sale.
Protocol
Commencement and divisional recognition ceremonies are special events for all involved. We ask that you show respect for everyone who shares in the experience by creating an occasion that will appropriately highlight their achievements. The university ceremony is a dignified program governed by academic tradition, overall good manners, and state and local laws. Therefore, possession of alcoholic beverages or materials that may disrupt the ceremony is prohibited. Guests may not reserve seats.
Inclement Weather
The divisional ceremony will be held indoors. In the event of rain, the divisional recognition ceremony will still occur. In the case of an emergency, any decision to cancel the ceremony will be announced on the Miami Regionals' homepage, MiamiOH.edu/Regionals, on social media, and through email.
