Program overview
The Mechanical Engineering Technology program emphasizes courses in computer aided drafting (CAD), computer aided engineering analysis and design, computer aided manufacturing (CAM), computer numerical control programming (CNC), and engineering mechanics.
Courses for the Associate MET program are offered at Miami University's regional locations in Hamilton and Middletown.
Curriculum overview
The courses include laboratory experiences working with modern materials testing equipment, microcomputer based engineering analysis software, CAD/CAM hardware and software, microprocessor-controlled robots, and a variety of engineering support software.
Mechanical Engineering Technology students develop the ability to analyze, synthesize, and solve technical problems. This program provides a solid foundation of mathematics, physics, and computer applications. The program also provides breadth through required studies in economics, communications, and liberal arts.
Career possibilities for graduates
Graduates work as Engineering Technicians within manufacturing related areas such as testing, analysis, design, and development of products.
