21st Century Literacies
The modern workplace has changed drastically, especially over the past several decades. Put simply, the skills necessary to succeed in the 20th century workplace are not the same as the skills need in the 21st century. To help BIS graduates develop and maintain these important, modern skill sets, BIS majors are required to take two (2) classes to fulfill the 21st Century Literacy requirement. Students can choose from a variety of different courses that fit their professional goals. Courses that complete the 21st Century Literacies requirement focus on statistical, visual, information technology, and technical literacies.
