Experience

Dr. Nehad Omara started her career, as a Research Scientist at Desert Research Center, Cairo, Egypt in 1993. Dr.Omara was collaborating with the Medicinal plant Department to explore desert medicinal plants which were in use as folk medicine by Egyptians for a long time, and searched for other desert plants that have not been examined phytochemically. In 2001, she started her Post-Doctoral research at University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK. Dr.Omara conducted original research in a natural products research program which included screening of plants, fungal cultures for neuropharmacological, antibiotic activity, Isolation, and characterization of biologically active compounds of plants and fungi.

Since 2008, Nehad taught several Chemistry courses including; General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Physical Chemistry. She also instructed the lab component of many of these courses. She gained an immensely diverse teaching experience through teaching at different colleges and universities including Northeastern State University, Broken Arrow, OK; Tulsa Community College, Tulsa, OK; ITT Tech Institute online; and Cincinnati State College, Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Omara is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at Miami University, Hamilton Campus, Hamilton Ohio. She teaches General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.
