English Studies

Are you passionate about reading, writing, and creative thinking? Do you recognize the importance of having excellent communication and analytical skills in today’s global workplace? Are you looking to start a new career or advance in your current one? Then English Studies may be the right major for you!

  • The BA in English Studies draws on all of the fields within the study of English: literature, creative writing, professional writing, linguistics, and cultural studies. Students are challenged to read, write, and think critically and creatively. 
  • 36 semester hours, preparing students with skills highly valued by today’s employers. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), among the most in-demand competencies today are written communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and digital technology – skills you will cultivate with English Studies! We will help prepare you for the challenges of the  21st-century global workplace.
