AY 2015-2016
Congratulations to Men's ORC State Basketball Champions - Three in a Row!
The ThunderHawk men's basketball team won the ORC state championship on Sunday, February 28 by defeating Miami University Hamilton in overtime 91 to 83. This is the third in a row ORC state championship for the men's team.
Congratulations to the ThunderHawk women's basketball team for being the ORC state runner-up. The Lady ThunderHawks lost 83-78 against OU Chillicothe.
ThunderHawks Win Traveling Trophy
The MUM-OX-MUH traveling trophy stays at Miami Middletown for another year as the ThunderHawks defeated the Harriers by a score of 86-74.
The traveling trophy was started at the end of the 1985-1986 basketball season which showcased the talents of both programs. The trophy is given to the winning team at the last meeting of the season of the two teams. The trophy is displayed for the entire year until they meet again.
ThunderHawks Prepare for Ohio Regional Campus State Tournament
Both the men and women's basketball teams were seeded 1st. in their respective state tournaments.
The men will play at OSU Mansfield on Sunday, February 21 at 1 pm. Winning that game will send them to the Final Four at OU Lancaster the following Saturday, February 27 for a 5 pm game. The men are shooting for their 3rd. state title in a row. Congratulations and good luck on your quest for "THREE IN A ROW"!
The women have a bye in the first round and will be playing on Saturday, February 27 at OU Lancaster in the Final Four as they try for their 1st. state championship since 2007. Game time for the women is 1 pm. Congratulations on a great season and good luck as you work to bring the women's State Championship back to MUM.
Basketball Teams Leading the ORCC West Division
Both the men and women's basketball teams remain on top of the Ohio Regional Campus Conference West Division by soundly defeating the University of Akron Wayne College Warriors over the weekend.
The ThunderHawks take to the road this week, but will return home on Sunday, February 7, with a league matchup with Ohio State University Mansfield and then on Wednesday, February 10 against Miami Hamilton which will end our league play.
Cooper Nolte Scores 1000!
Going into the game against the University of the Cumberlands, Cooper Nolte needed just 1 point to reach his 1000th point at Miami Middletown.
Cooper is a third-year player and has been a scoring machine for the ThunderHawks over the last two and a half seasons. He came to MUM after an outstanding career at Valley View High School where he was 1st team SWBL and Honorable Mention in Southwestern Ohio All District. Coach Frank Back says this about Cooper, "he's a two-time ORC State Champion and has led the ThunderHawks the last two seasons by being a skilled player who also embraces being a great teammate."

ThunderHawks Lead ORCC
The men’s and women’s basketball teams will wrap up the first half of their season by traveling to Indiana University Kokomo on Sunday, December 27.
Both teams are leading the Ohio Regional Campus Conference West Division. The men have a perfect 5-0 record while the women are 3-1.
The men are led in scoring by third-year player Cooper Nolte and the women are led by Tierra Tidwell a third-year player from Thurgood Marshall.
The second part of the season should be just as exciting as the first half. Join us at our next home game in the “Bennett” on January 17. The women tip off at 1pm and the men at 3pm.
THREE IN A ROW! Men's Tennis Win the Ohio Regional State Championship
The men's tennis team came away with their 3rd State Championship in a row. The ThunderHawks proved why they are number one in the Ohio Regional Campus Conference by finishing strong in the State tournament which was held at Miami Middletown on October 10th. The men's team is chasing the record for state tennis championships in a row which has stood since 1980 through 1984 when the then Warriors won 5 in a row.
Korey Risner (Carlisle) and Sam Handelsman (Cincinnati Hill C.A.) were 1st. doubles state champions and Dale Richter (Edgewood) and Braden Rauh-Lovejoy (Madison) were 2nd. doubles state champions. Congratulations to Head Coach Chanee Uribe and Assistant Coach Ty Turner and the rest of the 2015 team, Joseph MA, Billy Nuss and Matt Odem, on a terrific season.

Men's Basketball Win the Ohio Regional State Championship
Congratulations!! The ThunderHawks cap off an impressive 2014-2015 season as they capture back to back ORC State Championship titles and their 6th out of the last 7 years. Final score against OSU-Newark was 98-83. Both Tre'Von Teague and Josh Holfinger were named to the 2014-2015 ORC All-Tournament Team with Holfinger bringing home the Tournament MVP.
Lady ThunderHawks Fall Short in the Final Four
The Lady ThunderHawks finished an amazing season with a loss in the semi-finals of the Ohio Regional Campus State Tournament. OSU Newark Lady Titans ended the ThunderHawks season with an 85-67 win. The ThunderHawks were led by Tierra Tidwell, who made the All-Tournament Team, with 16 points, Lela Colvin with 11 points and Brooke Lewis with 10 points. The Lady ThunderHawks finished the season with a 16-9 record and were the West Division ORCC champions.
