Recharge 2022

Recharge, Reconnect Virtual Conference, January 13, 20, 21, 2022

The Winter Recharge Conference is MUR's January event to bring together members of our MUR staff and faculty community, and external partners, for a day of professional development and rejuvenation. Normally, we hold Recharge in person on one of the campuses as a day-long event. We're doing things a bit differently this year - coming together virtually instead of in-person - but we aim to have the same level of excellent content to share, inspire, and revitalize our community, including the return of raffle prizes!

Recharge 2022's theme is Reconnect, aiming to create an opportunity for our MUR community to connect with one another, themselves, and soon yet again, with our students when they return to learn in Spring 2022.

Raffle Information

Although we know that this year’s Recharge is already packed full of great reasons to attend, we will also be giving out raffle prizes throughout the conference in support of your work for Miami and our students. Prizes include tech gear to aid in connecting with your work, each other, and our students and professional development stipends, including a $1,000 professional development stipend Grand Prize!

Here’s how it will work:

Every session you attend equals one “ticket” in the raffle jar. We will collect the names of those in attendance from each conference session of the day.

For the daily raffles, we’ll draw names from those who attended sessions earlier that day.

For the Grand Prize raffle, we’ll draw names from all of those who attended at least three (3) sessions at any time throughout the conference.

If we pick your name in our random drawings, you win!

Burnout is a condition that many people experience, especially in the helping, education, and service professions. While very common, it can be hard to identify or see coming. Join Dr. Holly Brown, a nationally-certified Rehabilitation Counselor, for this timely session focused on defining burnout, identifying its associated signs and symptoms, and - most importantly - discussing strategies for preventing and coping with burnout, including stress management and self-care. She earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Kentucky, a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation and Special Education from Auburn University, and is a nationally-certified Rehabilitation Counselor. A passionate educator, Holly has extensive knowledge and understanding of issues that affect individuals for which counseling and intervention are necessary and beneficial and believes people can make much better decisions when well informed.
