Sam Baker and Gretchen Peters will perform at Miami Hamilton’s Parrish Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. After a Peruvian train bombing almost killed him in 1986, Sam Baker turned inward, relearning the use of his body and brain. The road back was arduous, but it opened up new vistas in art, poetry, and music. Mercy (2004) was the first of the trilogy released, followed by Pretty World (2007) and Cotton (2009).

Gretchen Peters arrived in Nashville in 1987 and quickly established herself as a songwriter. She landed her first number one hit with George Strait’s rendition of her Chill Of An Early Fall, then a Grammy nomination and CMA Song of the Year award with Martina McBride’s recording of Independence Day. As an artist, Peters has seven solo albums. She released her debut album The Secret of Life in 1996.  With the release of Blackbirds (2015) Peters showcased her Americana roots as she established herself as a one-of-a-kind singer and songwriter in possession of a fearless and creative voice.  Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors, and $16 for college students and children under 12.

Up next is Patty Griffin, Sara Watkins, and Anaïs Mitchell at Miami Middletown’s Dave Finkelman Auditorium on Friday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. Grammy Award winner Patty Griffin joins forces with Sara Watkins (of Nickel Creek) and Anaïs Mitchell in a celebration of American songwriting and performance. More than just a three-act show, this special “singers-in-the-round” style show features all three artists on stage together, sharing songs and accompanying each other for the entire evening. Tickets are $35 for all ages.

Southern Troubadours in the Round featuring Paul Thorn, Ruthie Foster, and Joe Ely continues the season on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Miami Middletown’s Dave Finkelman Auditorium. Grammy Award winner Joe Ely joins Grammy nominee and fellow Texan Ruthie Foster and Mississippi Raconteur Paul Thorn, all Americana chart-toppers, in a night of southern tale-telling in the round. Tickets are $30 for adults, $28 for seniors, and $20 for college students and children under 12.

The SteelDrivers wraps up the season on Saturday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Miami Hamilton’s Parrish Auditorium. The SteelDrivers is a group of seasoned veterans that braids their bluegrass roots with new threads of their own design. They bring together country, soul, and other contemporary influences to create an unapologetic hybrid that is old as the hills but fresh as the morning dew. They have been invited to perform on numerous radio and TV shows, including The Grand Ole Opry, NPR’s Mountain Stage, and the Conan O’Brien show. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors, and $16 for college students and children under 12.
