Scholarships announced for S.T.E.A.M. Studio Summer Camps at Miami University Regionals' Middletown Campus

Scholarships are available for Miami Regionals E-Campus' S.T.E.A.M. Studio summer camps hosted on the Middletown Campus. Each one-week camp is centered around a common theme to provide unique hands-on opportunities for 5th - 8th grade students to imagine, design, and bring ideas to life while experiencing traditional and not-so-traditional summer camp activities. 

With a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation, scholarships are available for the Middletown Camps, held June 21 - July 9. Underserved and underrepresented students from Middletown City Schools are encouraged to apply.

ART-istic Scientist will meet June 21 - June 25 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the Middletown campus. Explore the “A” in S.T.E.A.M. to the fullest potential this week by bringing visual arts to life! Investigate how the science of music, video game design, and creative thinking all come together while producing your own unique masterpieces. Debut your one-of-a-kind artistic visions at the STEAM Studio Art Show! The cost is $225 with a maximum of 45 participants. 

Amusement Engineers will meet June 28 - July 2 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the Middletown campus. Have you ever wondered about the science used to design your favorite amusement ride? Join us in exploring the physics behind coasters, experiment with the food chemistry of carnival snacks, and learn the science behind those “unbeatable games!” At the end of the week, reveal your very own “Main Attractions” at our S.T.E.A.M carnival.The cost is $225 with a maximum of 45 participants. 

Code Crackers will meet July 5 - July 9 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.on the Middletown campus. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to use codes to communicate and solve mysteries! From sending Morse Code and semaphore messages to designing escape rooms, this week will test your ability to go undercover and communicate without information falling into the wrong hands. At the end of the week, share your escape rooms and see if others can crack your codes! The cost is $225 with a maximum of 45 participants.
