Program dates:

  • Saturday, August 14, 2021, 3:00 pm - Tuesday, August 17, 2021, 3:30 pm
    • All LSAMP Early Arrival Program attendees will participate in MADE@Miami.
  • Format: in-person

About LSAMP:

LSAMP (Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation) is a scholars program funded by the National Science foundation to increase the number of underrepresented minority students obtaining STEM degrees, attending graduate schools, and entering into STEM careers.

Cost & Eligibility 

The LSAMP Early Arrival Program is provided to LSAMP eligible participants at no cost. Students accepted into this program must be pursuing a supported STEM degree; from an ethnic group underrepresented in the STEM (African American, Native American, Hispanic, Native Alaskan or Pacific Islander); and be a US Citizen or permanent resident. 

Once the above steps are completed, please confirm your registration by clicking the red Register for LSAMP button below. Once you are in - select the LSAMP program.

Goals for the Early Arrival Program
  • Learn strategies for academic success (study skills)
  • Review mathematics to prepare for the first STEM course
  • Build a sense of community and belonging (peers, staff, faculty)
  • Increase knowledge of campus resources and support services
  • Build confidence in making the transition to college
  • Participate in team-building activities
  • Gain exposure to many STEM fields/careers
  • Learn the importance of diversity in STEM
  • Build upon current strengths
