Annual Events and Programs
Global Initiatives organizes several annual events and programs that are highlights among Miami University students. Among the favorites are:
Interdisciplinary Courses and Academic Programs
Through the Center for American and World Cultures, Global Initiatives offers a number of courses that focus on building cross-cultural skills and awareness:

Also offered through the Center for American and World Cultures is a Global Readiness Certificate. Students can earn the certificate through a combination of coursework, participate in relevant co-curricular programs, and community engagement.
U.S. Passport Services
The Global Initiatives office in MacMillan Hall on the Oxford campus is a U.S. Passport Acceptance Agency. Students can visit our office to have their passport photo taken and file their U.S. Passport application. We also take photos for visa applications.
Additional information on what documents are needed to file a U.S. Passport applicant can be found on the Global Initiatives website.
Fulbright U.S. Student Program
Global Initiatives provides Miami University students with advising and application support for the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Program grants. Funded by the U.S. Department of State, Fulbright grants provide funding for U.S. students to spend an academic year abroad after graduation pursuing graduate study, conducting independent research, or serving as an English Language Teaching Assistant. Miami students do very well in the Fulbright competition.
