Accommodations for religious holidays
Miami will reasonably accommodate students, staff, and faculty who observe religious holidays.
- Students should inform instructors, in writing, within the first week of class about planned absences due to religious holidays. Miami expects your instructor to provide you with reasonable accommodations for completing missed work. Read the full policy
- Staff or faculty who believe they have been wrongfully denied time off for a religious observance must contact the Department of Human Resources at least 7 calendar days before the religious holiday. Read the full policy
Add religious holidays to your calendar
This electronic calendar was created by the Yale University Chaplain's Office.
Google Calendar:
- Open Google Calendar.
- On the left side of the screen, find "Add a coworker's calendar." Click the + sign.
- From the pop-up menu, select "From URL."
- In the URL field, paste this web address: https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/1fkc78ne7p70f5dmt8mac79ems%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics
- Click "Add calendar."
The calendar will appear on the left side of the screen, under "Other calendars." However, it might take up to 12 hours for changes to show in your Google calendar.
iCal:
- Open iCal.
- From the File menu, select "new calendar subscription."
- In the field provided, paste this web address: https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/1fkc78ne7p70f5dmt8mac79ems%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics
- Click "Add calendar."
The calendar will appear on the left side of the screen, under "Other calendars."
