Safe Zone 201: Trans and Nonbinary

The focus of this training is to provide participants with awareness, history, language and general knowledge of trans and nonbinary identities. This training helps participants develop self-awareness and to think critically about their own assumptions as related to assigned sex, gender identity, and/or gender expression. Participants will begin to think critically about ways to serve as allies for the trans population and identify resources for supporting the trans community.

Participants must have completed Safe Zone 101 before taking Safe Zone 201.

CSDI regularly offers Safe Zone 201 throughout the year. We are also happy to work with groups of 20 or more to schedule specially tailored safe zones. To request a training for your department or organization, please email the Associate Director of LGBTQ+ Initiatives, Dr. April Callis, at
