Safe Zone Facilitator Program

Due to the high volume of requests for Safe Zones, LGBTQ+ Initiatives counts on the help of volunteer facilitators to lead trainings across campus. Once individuals have completed Safe Zone 101, 201, and 301, they are eligible to become volunteer Safe Zone facilitators. Facilitators participate in a three-hour “train the trainer” session, and then co-lead Safe Zone with a more seasoned facilitator until they are ready to facilitate on their own. Students, faculty, staff, and alum are all eligible to facilitate.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer facilitator, please email the Associate Director of LGBTQ+ Initiatives, Dr. April Callis, at

Look for the next Train the Trainer session in early Spring 2022.
