Women*s Initiatives is a unit within the Division of Student Life's Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion, focusing its efforts on:
- supporting women's personal and professional development, leadership, and empowerment;
- educating the campus about women's and gender issues; and
- advocating for gender equity within the University and beyond.

Staff are available to visit classes and groups to share information about the Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion’s resources, programs, and events. Topical presentations are also available.
Request an RA Bulletin Board
Women*s Initiatives interns create pre-made bulletin boards on a variety of women’s and gender-related topics each year. Topics have included women in politics, womanism, and ending the STI stigma.

Take a WGS Class
Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGS) is is a dynamic, interdisciplinary program in the College of Arts and Science that investigates how our lives are affected by gender race, class, age, sexuality, religion, (dis)ability, gender identity, and nationality. Both a WGS major and minor are available to undergraduate students. The WGS program also offers two thematic sequences and a graduate concentration.
Apply for a Women*s Center Internship
Our student interns enrich their Miami experience through education, activism, and leadership development. The internship is a paid student staff position within the Women*s Center. Applications are solicited in the spring.
Do a Graduate Practicum at the Women*s Center
Work directly with undergraduates and help coordinate Women’s Center programs. Flexible to meet your interests!
Create Your Own Experience
Are you looking for ways to get involved in social justice or community outreach activities related to women's and gender issues? Do you have a project that you'd like to develop and implement? Need some help talking through your ideas and identifying opportunities or resources?
