Leadership Certificate Program

The Leadership Certificate Program is a tiered experience that challenges you to examine leadership from diverse perspectives and encourages reflection into your own leadership skills, strengths and beliefs. Each tier starts at the beginning of the semester and is designed to be completed over the course of that same semester.

Many of these requirements are accompanied by a written reflection that must be submitted to administrators of the Leadership Certificate Program complete that requirement.

  • Attend one Lessons in Leadership hosted by the Wilks Institute
  • Attend one Leadership Lecture
  • Participate in two Leadership Certificate Program workshops hosted by the Wilks Institute
  • Attend Perlmutter Leadership Conference
  • Reflect on your membership in a student organization
  • Attend and reflect on your experience at a diversity event
  • Reflect on a well-being activity of your choosing
  • Write a Leadership Philosophy Statement
  • Attend two Lessons in Leadership hosted by the Wilks Institute
  • Attend one Leadership Lecture
  • Participate in one Leadership Certificate Program workshop hosted by the Wilks Institute
  • Participate in one on one peer Strengths Coaching (Claiming your Strengths)
  • Reflect on your leadership in a student organization
  • Complete and reflect on a service project
  • Read and reflect on one leadership book
  • Review and revise your Leadership Philosophy Statement
  • Attend one Lessons in Leadership hosted by the Wilks Institute
  • Attend one Leadership Lecture
  • Participate in one Leadership Certificate Program workshop hosted by the Wilks Institute
  • Participate in one on one professional Strengths Coaching (Aiming your Strengths)
  • Reflect on your leadership in a student organization
  • Attend one Career Exploration event hosted by the Center for Career Exploration and Success
  • Interview a leader, on or off campus
  • Review and revise Leadership Philosophy Statement
  • Disseminate final Leadership Philosophy Statement to mentor on campus

Tier 1

  • Attend one Lessons in Leadership hosted by the Wilks Institute
  • Attend one Leadership Lecture
  • Participate in two Leadership Certificate Program workshops hosted by the Wilks Institute
