Join us for this showcase of research and creative activity conducted by our undergraduate students under the guidance of faculty and graduate student mentors. The UR Forum event includes an in-person display of research posters during 3 poster sessions and ten-minute talks sessions throughout the day. Open to the public.

Miami University's 30th Annual Undergraduate Research Forum

Miami's celebration of collaborative learning builds on a rich tradition, of showcasing scholarly and creative works conducted by our undergraduate students, under the guidance of dedicated mentors (faculty, staff, and graduate students). 

Miami's Undergraduate Research Forum website displays presentation materials (a project abstract and gallery-walk images from the slides, an image(s) of the poster or the ten-minute talk presentation, etc.). Open to the public, the site is searchable by research topic/ student major, participant names, keywords, STEM, etc. 

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this Amazing Event. In addition to the poster presentations, over 35 undergraduates were engaged in Ten-minute talk presentations. We appreciate the Miami Graduate students who served as session moderators and staffed the Poster Sessions Check-In.

Presentation Registration Open until Monday, March 04

Miami Undergraduates are invited to register for a presentation to communicate the outcomes and insights of undergraduate research projects, creative activities, and experiential learning. The research may have been conducted as part of a class, an independent study, a community project, a service-learning project, a creative project, etc.

The UR Forum event will be held in-person on Friday, April 26, 2024 in Shriver Center on the Miami campus.

The undergraduate student who completes the UR 2024 Forum presentation registration form is designated as the primary undergraduate presenter. You will receive all notifications about the UR Forum event via email from the ORU Coordinator of Undergraduate Researcher who manages the event. You will be responsible for sharing information and instructions with any co-presenters, faculty and graduate student mentors.

The Form prompts you to enter information about your project title, your faculty mentors, and graduate students. You will need to enter (First Name, Last Name, Miami Email, and department name).

The Form also prompts you to enter about yourself and any undergraduate co-presenters. Please contact any co-presenters and request exact data of the Student First Name, Student Last Name, Student Miami Email, Major 1, Major 2 (if any) and the Student Expected Year of Graduation).

Finally, the Form Prompts you to either select a Ten-minute Talk or a Poster Presentation format. Keep in mind the available times of your co-presenters (if any) when you mark each session time during which your presentation can be scheduled.

Large Format Poster (Individual or Group) Presentation during one of these 90-minute time blocks
Session A  9:00-10:30am   |  Session B 1:00-2:30pm    |  Session C 3:00-4:30pm

Ten-minute Oral presentation (individual or group) during one of these 60-minute time blocks.
Oral Session I [9:30-10:30a] Oral Session II [10:45-11:45a]
Oral Session III [1:15-2:15p] Oral Session IV [2:30-3:30p]

Around March 15th, the Primary Presenter will receive an email from the ORU Coordinator to
1) announce your assigned poster session (A, B, C) or assigned Ten-minute talk session.  
2) request you to review your presentation listing and 3) will provide a Google sheet link for you to request any necessary changes.

After spring break, the ORU Coordinator will also email the primary presenter instructions for creating and submitting your project presentation materials that will be displayed on the UR Forum Website.

The 2024 Undergraduate Research Forum on Friday, April 26, will be an in-person event free and open to the public. Join us at Miami's Shriver Center (701 E. Spring St, Oxford OH). Email questions to undergradresearch@miamioh.edu.

The 2024 UR forum features poster presentations, ten-minute talks, a showcase of research centers, and a featured exhibit.

Three 90-minute poster sessions in the John Dolibois Rooms Shriver 2nd Floor. 

  • Session A, 9:00 - 10:30 am
  • Session B, 1:00 - 2:30 pm
  • Session C, 3:00 - 4:30 pm

Four Ten-minute talk sessions in the Bystrom and Caroline Scott rooms in Shriver Center on the 3rd floor.

  • Session I, 9:30 - 10:30 am 
  • Session II, 10:45 - 11:45 am 
  • Session III, 1:15 - 2:15 pm 
  • Session IV, 2:30 - 3:30 pm

Around April 18, Miami University's UR Forum website will display Scheduled Presentations (including brief descriptions and a “gallery walks” and poster images. Use the site’s navigation menu to find projects by specific students, faculty, and graduate advisors or by discipline or key terms. 

Miami's 30th Annual Undergraduate Research Forum offers student researchers an opportunity to engage with the wider university community and public audiences. Each spring Miami celebrates the accomplishments of undergraduate students and of their faculty and graduate student mentors. Their research may have been conducted as part of a class, an independent study, a community project, service-learning projects, creative projects, etc.

How to get Your Poster Printed in Oxford Ohio

Poster Board Cork section dimensions are 4'x6'. Push pins will be provided for you to display your poster during your session.

Visit the Oxford Copy Shop website and click on the Printing Tab, then on Posters. You can download a PowerPoint template and get a quote for printing your poster.
