Miami's Student Success Center is offering several new programs designed to help students in their college journey. The Miami Cares initiative helps those experiencing financial hardship related to housing, food, and computers.
Welcome to Miami
Welcome Weekend & First 50 Days features more than 100 programs sponsored by 40+ campus departments. There is something for everyone! Many of the programs over that first weekend (Thursday, August 23 - Sunday, August 26) are required for the whole first-year class, so please plan to attend. New students will receive instructions from resident assistants (RAs) or via email (particularly for commuter students) regarding events that all students are expected to attend.
Record Setting Class
The largest and most diverse class in Miami University’s 209-year history arrived this week on the Oxford campus.
3,954 students in the Class of 2022 come from 41 states and 22 countries.
New at Miami
Three newly renovated residence halls now offer greater accessibility, improved safety features, more study areas, and additional spaces for community engagement.
Students taking classes in biology, microbiology, and global & intercultural studies are being welcomed with new and improved spaces in Pearson and MacMillan Halls, including a brand new atrium and improved student study areas.
The new Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion brings together the resources of the Women's Center, LGBTQ+ Services, and Diverse Student Development, promoting interaction among the areas' various functions and greater collaboration among student groups.
Highlighting locally sourced products, a newly renovated market is now open in MacCracken Hall, featuring on-the-go a la carte options in addition to a selection of non-perishables and other refrigerated grocery items.
New self-order kiosks for a la carte locations in Armstrong Student Center and at Dividends in the Farmer School of Business introduce a simplified ordering process and faster service time. Cashiers will remain available for those paying with cash.
