Workday for Students and Families

Miami University is in the process of transitioning to Workday Student. This change will impact how students and families engage in processes surrounding admissions, billing/payment, financial aid, registration, academic/personal records, and advising.

Who is Impacted?

Two main groups will be impacted by Miami’s transition to Workday Student:

  • Prospective students applying for admission for the 2026-27 academic year
  • Current students continuing at Miami for the 2026-27 academic year

Current students will continue to use Banner Self Service through the 2025-26 academic year. The first time they will interact with Workday is when they register for 2026 Fall Semester Classes in April 2026 (unless they hold an on-campus job).

Prospective students will use Workday as part of their admissions process, including when applying for financial aid.

I’ve shared access to my personal records with my parents. Can I still do this in Workday?

Yes. Authorized individuals will be able to access their student’s personal data, provided the student shares access in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). More information about how students can share access, and how parents/family members can request access, will be available closer to the go-live date.

I’m a student employee who’s already using Workday. Will the platform I’m using change?

No. Workday Student is a component of the overall Workday system. As a student employee, you will simply see new tasks and a different profile view when your Student record is activated.
