Funding for Comparative Religion majors
When you major in religion, you have access to the following forms of financial assistance:
- Experiential learning grants: Thanks in part to financial gifts from alumni, the department is able to help our majors pay for special learning experiences such as independent research, study away, or travel to professional conferences.
- The Richard and Karen Rappleye Scholarship: Funded by a generous Miami alum and spouse, this merit-based scholarship is awarded each year to one student majoring in religion.
- Annual department awards: Near the end of each school year, outstanding religion majors are recognized for their academic performance or co-curricular service. Each award comes with a modest financial prize.
To learn more
If you're a religion major or minor, visit the department's Canvas site to learn more about funding opportunities, including how to apply for an experiential learning grant.
You were given access to the department's Canvas site when you declared your major or minor in religion. On your Canvas dashboard, the site appears as Department of Comparative Religion-P.
To give
If you're an alum or friend of the department, please consider contributing to the department's discretionary fund. This is the fund we use to provide experiential learning grants to our students.
To contribute to the fund, visit Miami's Give Online page.
- Under "Designations," select "Give to the area(s) of your choice."
- In the pop-up window, scroll down to "Current Projects" and then select "Department of Comparative Religion (1617-001)."
Thank you for helping to enhance our students' learning!
