The Miami University Speech and Hearing Clinic is housed within our department offering full speech and audiological services to the community. Our students benefit from their direct involvement with patients in our clinic.

American Sign Language Courses

New for 2014-15 Academic Year! We are very excited to offer 4 semesters of American Sign Language for the first time this year. Completion of SPA 202 – Intermediate Sign Language II fulfills the College of Arts and Science Foreign Language Requirement.

Online Courses

Beginning in Summer 2014, the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology is offering a select group of courses online. The majority of these courses are pre-requisites for admission to graduate programs in speech-language pathology. These courses are open to current Miami students and non-matriculating students.

    Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology

    Miami University offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in communication disorders. Students become active participants in the on-site clinic where they learn clinical methods, observe speech and language evaluations, and eventually plan and implement therapy sessions.
