Undergraduate participation in research is an important part of the university, college, and department missions. There are numerous opportunities for MME students to perform research under the direct advisement of a faculty member. In the MME combined BS/MS program, students can begin performing research early in their time at Miami and build toward a graduate degree.

Our students have presented their research at annual Undergraduate Research Forum as well as at national and international conferences.

Students are eligible to apply to the university's First-Year Research Experiences, Undergraduate Research Award Program,  Undergraduate Summer Scholars program as well as other undergraduate research programs which provide a stipend and/or other support.
