Diversity and Inclusion Dialogues

“Creating a sense of belonging, understanding and inclusion...”

Opening the Lines of Communication

Diversity and Inclusion Dialogues (D.I.Ds) are a series of informal events where the Career Center staff can engage in dialogue about issues of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The D.I.Ds are interactive and require participants to openly discuss issues they have experienced and brainstorm ways to be active agents of change in the Career Center.

Opening the Lines of Education

D.I.D sessions begin with a short presentation of research on critical issues affecting college campuses and workplace environments around the globe. Staff members and invited guests are requested to come with questions, reflections, and contributions about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Diversity Deep Dive Sessions

Diversity Deep Dive (D3) sessions will be the practical space,  where we will create methods, identify techniques and increase our cultural competencies for our work every day. It will be where we answer the questions about how to apply the knowledge we explored in an DID. The purpose of this exercise is to consider how we can create an inclusive space for CCES and the entire Career Community. We will explore how we create barriers (conscious or unconscious) and we can individually and collectively eliminate them.

The goal of D.I.Ds and D3 sessions is to spark dialogue, in an effort to create a sense of belonging, understanding and inclusion in the Career Center and in all of our services.

Topic will include but not limited to: Race, class, gender, socioeconomic status, religion, spirituality, LGBTQ+, ability and thought.
