Exploring careers at Miami University can be an exciting journey for students. Here are some steps you can take to explore careers.

Career Assessments

Where Do I Start?

Check out Focus 2, an assessment you can access for free as a Miami student. Focus 2 helps you to learn more about your interests and how they relate to career fields. The goal is to find a good fit between your interests and potential careers.

Register, using the link below, for a new account. Use access code ‘redhawks’ when registering.

Challenge Cards

Challenge Cards are an innovative career development tool that academic advisors, guidance counsellors and teachers use to prepare students for the future of work.

This approach helps students see the bigger picture: the challenges, problems and opportunities that exist in society. While jobs and careers are likely to change, the challenges we are trying to solve will remain.

Career Clusters

Miami University has several resources based on Career Clusters (jobs similar to other jobs). On each of the Career Cluster pages, you'll find possible Job Titles, Career Cluster Events, and the Top Employers we have connections with.

Career Advisors

When you are admitted to Miami, you are assigned a Career Advisor. Your advisor is based on your major and/or chosen Career Cluster.
