Learn about living and working in Chicago. Join Career Center staff on March 16 and 17 as we visit select employers and Miami Alumni affiliated in the Health and Sciences Career Cluster while exploring the culture of Chicago.

• Notable for its fine dining, Chicago is the home of 5 finalists for the James Beard Award for outstanding cuisine
• Chicago has 77 globally diverse neighborhoods in one city, from Puerto Rico to Mexico to China to India
• Chicago is the home of numerous sports entertainment venues including baseball, football, soccer, and hockey.

Participants of the Into The Windy City Career Trek will visit the following employers over this 2-day experience:

• Northwestern Medicine — Ranked #1 Hospital by U.S. News and World Report
• Ascension — Healthcare organization chosen for innovative Health Systems Implementation Initiative
• American Medical Association — National association that convenes 190+ state and specialty medical societies and other critical stakeholders
• Bain & Company — Global consultancy specializing in strategy, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, and advanced analytics

Student Information

• Required pre-departure meeting on Zoom either May 10 at 4 p.m. or May 11 at 10 a.m. (linkage will be shared with students attending the event at a later date)
• Students are responsible for transportation to and from Chicago as well as lodging.
• A registration fee of $50 is required and will cover your meals, intercity transportation and university-led entertainment for the day and evening
• NOTE: These employers require proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to visit their facilities
