• Serve as a resource in answering questions about Miami University, the Oxford community, and life in the U.S.
• Connect new international students with university resources and introduce them to university policies
• Facilitate small group discussions about cultural adjustment
• Plan and facilitate orientation activities (cultural and/or recreational)
• Assist with airport pick-up transportation and helping students move into the residence halls with their luggage
• Assist with document check, TB tests, and orientation sessions
• Respond promptly to emails regarding your schedule and work responsibilities

• Enrolled full-time at Miami University as an undergraduate or graduate student
• Completed at least one semester at Miami University at the time of application
• Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 at the time of application
• Preferably, have no other obligations during your employment as an iPOL
• Effective cross-cultural communication skills and cross-cultural sensitivity in working with students from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to direct students to appropriate campus units or resources, and answer questions
• Punctual, reliable, flexible and enthusiastic
• Ability to proactively solve problems and take initiative to assist ISSS staff to improve the quality of orientation
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member
• Excellent leadership, communication, and listening skills
• Ability to plan and lead recreational activities
