CAS Writing Policy

In 2010, Faculty of the College of Arts and Science (CAS) approved a new policy that required majors in CAS to include writing outcomes and instruction beyond what is taught in ENG 111. This policy demonstrates the College faculty’s strong commitment to equipping all of their graduates with the writing abilities sought by employers, graduate schools, and medical, law, and other professional schools.

Each department and program includes additional, substantial writing instruction and practice during students’ sophomore through senior years.
