Join the fun at the 6th annual Chinese Festival Sept. 27

2019 marks the 40th anniversary of U.S. and China diplomatic relations

The Miami University Confucius Institute will host the 6th annual Chinese Festival Friday, Sept. 27, in Oxford’s Uptown Park. The event is free and open to the public.

The Confucius Institute is celebrating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and China with a photo exhibit in Uptown Park.

The festival kicks off at 5 p.m. and features about a dozen cultural booths with games. From 7–8:30 p.m., Chinese art performances take center stage and include dancers, musicians and a martial art master. Many of the performers are from the Cincinnati area. Chinese cuisine is available with free samples for tasting.

According to Chen Zhao of the Confucius Institute, many Miami students, including the international students from China, are involved in organizing this community celebration.

“The Chinese students have been actively preparing for this event since school started,” she said. “They are very excited and happy to serve as performers and volunteers for our Miami and local communities.”
