Miami to celebrate its first-generation college students Friday

By Margo Kissell, university news and communications

Miami University will celebrate the achievements of its 2,350+ first-generation college students on Friday, Nov. 6.

Miami First-Generation Day, held as part of the National First-Generation College Celebration, recognizes those who are the first in their families to go to college.

Miami’s First-Generation Initiative seeks to build a community of first-generation students and allies. The initiative complements Miami’s new strategic plan, MiamiRISE, which focuses on transformational student experiences, including those for first-generation students.Celebrate Miami First-Gen Day
