Myaamia Center receives $510,000 Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant

Building Connections: Learn about Miami University's new building and renovation projects
Miami University’s Oxford campus is growing with the construction of two new academic buildings — the first since the Farmer School of Business was built in 2009 — and an indoor equestrian center. The renovation of the College@Elm building in partnership with the City of Oxford will revitalize an area along College Avenue and Elm Street uptown.

Miami, city of Oxford receive JobsOhio Vibrant Community Grant for visionary College@Elm project
Miami University and the city of Oxford will receive $1.5 million in assistance from a JobsOhio Vibrant Community grant for a startup initiative that will create more than 50 Ohio jobs, bolster a distressed rural economy, and attract new businesses to Oxford.

President Biden nominates Daryl Baldwin to National Council on the Humanities  
President Biden has nominated Myaamia Center Executive Director Daryl Baldwin — a leader in Native American language and cultural revitalization — to the National Council on the Humanities, the White House announced Wednesday.

CVG Airport and Miami University agree to new management for the operation of Miami University Airport-OXD
Miami will continue to own the OXD Airport, as well as the 300 acres on which it is located. CVG will manage and operate the facility, which will remain a general aviation airport that supports corporate flights, flight training and recreational flights. The term of the lease and operation agreement is for five years, renewable for five additional five-year terms.

Miami to erect statue in honor of basketball icon Wayne Embry (Miami '58)
"The pride I have as a Miami of Ohio alumnus is deep and I am genuinely grateful and touched to have the enduring honor," said Embry, A statue capturing his likeness and signature hook shot will become the first honoring an African American alumnus at Miami University.

Miami Regionals ranked in top 20 Best Online Colleges for ROI: Bachelor’s Degrees
The Miami University Regionals online bachelor's degree program placed 17th in the 2021 Best Online Bachelor's Degrees: Colleges with the Highest Return on Investment by Online U, a new ranking system for online degree programs.

President's task force proposes recommendations for improving diversity, equity and inclusion at Miami University
A task force working to advance diversity, equity and inclusion at Miami University has proposed a broad slate of more than 40 recommendations. President Greg Crawford appointed the President's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force in June and charged it with examining five pillars designed to build a more inclusive, diverse, inviting, safe and welcoming climate at Miami.

Princeton Review names Miami University a “Best Value” college
In 2018-2019, employers placed 62,270 internship and job postings on the university's electronic job board.Miami University is among 200 universities and colleges recognized as the nation’s “Best Value Colleges,” the Princeton Review reports. The education services company today published its annual list of undergraduate institutions offering the best return on investment.
