Lisa MaysI graduated from Miami in 2009 with degrees in Anthropology, Classical Humanities and Classical Languages. Following graduation, I joined the Graduate Group at Bryn Mawr College and earned a Master of Arts degree in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology with a thesis exploring the proximity and connectivity of the structures on the slopes of the Acropolis. Since 2011, I have been teaching Latin (and a little bit of Greek!) at Elgin Academy, an independent College-Prep school outside of Chicago. I also serve as one of the State Chairs of the Illinois Junior Classical League (an affiliate of the ACL), planning the state convention for high-school Latin students across Illinois (a job for which I was well prepared having served as Chair of the UCC committee for two years). Additionally, I have been a member of the excavations at the Athenian Agora since the 2009 season, serving in a variety of capacities and excavating fill from the Bronze Age to the Late Byzantine (and everything in between, including Classical Levels of the Panathenaic Way). I really credit the excellence of the Classics Department's advising process for helping me identify early the experiences that I needed as an Undergraduate in order to be an attractive candidate for a program like Bryn Mawr's and an excavation like the Agora.
