LSAMP Students Present STEM Research in Columbus

Camaryn Bennett, Joseph Corbett, and Denali Selent in Columbus

LSAMP Scholars Camaryn Bennett (Chemistry), Joseph Corbett (Anthropology), and Denali Selent (Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science co-major) presented their STEM-based research and participated in workshops for the 2022 Ohio Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Conference on February 17-19, 2022.

  • Camaryn's presentation was titled "How Universal Is Arrhenius Scaling in Dynamic Polymer Materials?" Her faculty research mentor is Blayney Associate Professor of Chemistry Dominik Konkolewicz (soon to be full professor).
  • Joseph presented on "Hummingbird Hitchhikers: How Commensalism Affects Mite Morphology."
  • Denali presented her research, "Contextualizing Farmer Perspectives on Water Quality in California."

The 2022 Ohio LSAMP Conference, "Reshaping Our Community Through STEM," was a two-and-a-half-day conference offering LSAMP Scholars the opportunity to present research, participate in workshops, experience excursions to industries, network, and reinforce their commitment to STEM careers. Faculty and staff collaborates in workgroup sessions to develop strategies that will bring about institutional change and empower students to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals.
