FULL SEMESTER Opportunities

Scenic Carpentry
This is where we need the MOST help. We need students who specifically want experience developing skills in woodworking or metalworking, along with theatre-specific skills like rigging and set installation. Beginners are welcome.

Construction hours would begin at the start of the spring term. The Play That Goes Wrong is a big set show, and our goal is to be finished with all the practical elements by March 3. Shop hours may be frequent during this first six weeks of the semester, and be fewer after spring break.

Scene Painting
We could use a crew of folks with blocks of time on Tuesdays and Thursdays to help with scene painting. Those who have had the scene painting class are encouraged to sign up, though there will be room for one or two beginners.

Props Construction
If you know how to use the basic woodworking tools in the shop, OR have sewing skills, OR have done some molding and casting, OR any combination of these things, sign up for props construction. You'd need some blocks of time on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Costume Construction, Organization and maintenance
Costuming this semester will involve a good deal of modification and alteration of existing garments to  create looks needed for The Play That Goes Wrong.

Electrics Crew
Help with the hang and focus of lights, install speakers, set up the theatre spaces for tech rehearsals. Work is done during the day, scheduled around your availability.

Marketing
We need a student to work this semester with Tasha Dean, CCA marketing manager, on writing features and developing marketing strategies for the spring shows.

Assistant Stage Managers
ASM's assist the stage manager during the pre-production phase and during rehearsals. Nightly rehearsals (7-11 pm) begin March 1. It is likely that there will be flexibility in the number of rehearsals each ASM would attend.
