Woody Tyler joined the Black Clawson division of Kadant in 2003 and served as its sales leader for 12 years. He held a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and had over 30 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry. During his time with Kadant, he made enormous contributions in many areas. In addition to leading Kadant Black Clawson’s sales organization, Woody was also instrumental in building and training the company’s stock preparation sales team in China. His strong relationships with others in the industry led to some very significant acquisitions for Kadant. He had a passion for mentoring, which he not only applied to his efforts with the next generation of Kadant leadership, but also to the young men in the Boy Scouts of America organization. Woody passed away May 4, 2015 prematurely at age 58. The Kadant scholarship honors his memory so that his legacy should continue to be recognized in developing future contributors to the pulp and paper industry.
