Miami University Commencement

Fall 2020 Ceremonies

With mass gathering restrictions still in place and as we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our campus communities, we are regrettably unable to move forward with an in-person celebration this September and do not plan to hold an in-person commencement this December.

We know this is extremely disappointing news, but we hope you can understand the safety concerns that have led us to this decision. For those who intended to return for the September in-person recognition and those who intended to take part in the December ceremony, we are planning an online remote commencement in December and will individually recognize all 2020 graduates at that time. Details will be announced at a later date.

Future Graduates

Apply for graduation through your BannerWeb account for August 2020, December 2020, January 2021, or May 2021 graduation dates.

May 2020 Graduates

Diplomas for May 2020 graduation have been mailed. An email was sent to each student's Miami email account to let them know the date their diploma shipped. A diploma cover, typically provided at the in-person ceremony, can be requested. Covers will be mailed this fall.
