Carolyn S. Craig, a Certified Diversity Professional and Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging for the College of Arts and Science, is a change agent, strategist, keynote speaker, educator, and facilitator with expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy, implementation and assessment, implicit (unconscious) bias, culture intelligence (CQ), diversity curriculum design and development, inclusive leadership, diverse employee recruitment, retention and resource groups, diversity & inclusion boards and councils, and multicultural marketing.

She has recommended organizational changes that have positively affected minority and female populations and inspired inclusive work environments leading to optimal organizational and business success, designed and evaluated effectiveness of diversity programs/initiatives, made recommendations, and overseen implementation. Her impact and influence extend to higher education and K-12 institutions, corporations, small businesses, healthcare/pharmaceuticals, and non-profits.

Professor Craig’s welcoming style and approach provided a safe place for singular and group exercises that sometimes focused on challenging topics."

Currently leading several diversity-related initiatives at Miami University and involved in many professional and non-profit organizations including the YWCA Hamilton Board of Directors and Ohio Diversity Council, Carolyn holds a B.S.B.A. from Miami University, an M.B.A. from The University of Detroit Mercy, where she was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, a premier honor society recognizing the “Best in Business,” and a certificate in Human Resource Management from Miami University Corporate & Community Institute.

She is a National Inclusive Excellence in Higher Education Leadership Academy Fellow, a Summer Institute of Diversity Education Fellow, holds certifications as an Advanced Certified Cultural Intelligence Professional (ACCQP), is an Implicit (Unconscious Bias) Training Facilitator through the Culture Intelligence Center, and has earned a certification in Diversity & Inclusion from The National Diversity Council.
