Partnerships

Miami University's strong and growing partnerships with school districts and community agencies provide many opportunities to put research into practice.

One only has to look at Miami's oldest partnership, that with Talawanda Schools, to see what can be accomplished when organizations work cooperatively to achieve common goals. The benefits extend to the entire community.

That model program has encouraged renewed efforts to expand our alliances. Among Miami's notable new partnerships are those with urban schools. Other projects involving a variety of disciplines are in the planning phases.

The best solutions to contemporary issues—whether they be childhood obesity, breaking the cycle of poverty or improving schools—come from multiple perspectives. Our goal is to provide undergraduate and graduate students with the collaborative experiences that nurture such interdisciplinary thinking.
