Policies and Procedures

Policies and procedures for the Dietetic Internship are provided as a guide and a resource for students planning on completing the Combined Master’s Degree/Dietetic Internship. These policies and procedures are also available in handbook form and via an online organizational site following successful acceptance to the program. These policies and procedures are meant to be helpful and supportive and should be considered as a companion to the Miami University Student Handbook.

The Miami University Dietetic Internship program policies and procedures are introduced in a mandatory program orientation provided in the first (Fall) semester. Further information is provided during advising sessions with the Dietetic Internship Director as you progress through the program. In-depth information is covered in KNH 640 Internship required in the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Seminars are offered at the beginning, middle, and end of each semester to include information on progression and evaluation of performance, professionalism, credentialing in the dietetics profession, and the dietetics registration examination.

All students are encouraged to review the policies and procedures relating to Miami University in the General Bulletin including grade policies, withdrawal and refund of tuition and fees, protection of student information and access to personal files, and graduation and program completion requirements.
