Program Research

School psychologists have a strong foundation in research. They effectively evaluate and apply it in their practices. To prepare you for a successful career, you will be trained in the scientist-practitioner tradition at Miami. Here you will learn how to employ techniques and resources for data collection, measurement, analysis, and program evaluation that support effective practices.  Students develop these research skills and apply them to their thesis research projects.

Scholarly work is an integral part of our program for both students and faculty. Our faculty are scientist-practitioners themselves, and you may be integrally involved in their research projects during your tenure at Miami too. Below you will find recent examples of our faculty and student successes in furthering their own understanding and advancing the field of school psychology.
