Courses and Events

Education forms the core of AWE’s vision to train the next generation of female founders by pairing academic research with practical techniques and real-world projects. AWE offers two courses for the 2018/2019 academic year.

Winter Term 2019, Designing Your Life In this three work immersion program spanning Oxford, Cincinnati, and San Francisco, students will meet onsite with female founders across a range of industries to hear their stories and learn how they run their businesses. Where to start? How to grow? Students will explore these questions and more as they apply founders’ expertise in charting their own entrepreneurial career paths.

Spring Term 2019, Women & Entrepreneurship. This course takes a gendered look at entrepreneurship to understand the internal and external barriers that women face in entrepreneurial environments and trains students to turn these challenges into opportunities. Course highlights include guest lectures from female founders and real-world projects.

We’re kicking off our inaugural year of AWE with two events on October 17, 2018:

  • A pop-up shop in Armstrong Student Center with female founders from all over Cincinnati. Full listing of vendors coming soon!
  • A talk on “Advice Not Taken” with Wendy Lea, former CEO of Cintrifuse in Cincinnati, and a panel of female founders, at 6PM in Taylor Auditorium (FSB 1000)
