Departmental Notes:

  • A 2.0 GPA is required across all ECO courses to graduate.
  • At least 9 hours of upper-level ECO coursework must be taken at Miami (including ECO 315 and ECO 317).
  • ECO 405 may satisfy the Business Capstone and ECO Elective requirement.
  • It is strongly advised that students do not take ECO 315 and 317 in the same semester.
  • The major requires 15 hours of ECO electives, at least 6 of those hours must be in courses that require ECO 315 or 317 as a pre-requisite (known as ECO Adv Electives and numbered 410 or above).
  • Prerequisites for all 300- and 400-level courses include ECO 201 and ECO 202 unless otherwise stated.

  • Must earn 124 hours to graduate; minimum of 52 hours of non-business coursework required.
  • 2.0 GPA overall and 2.0 GPA in business required to graduate.

  • Diversity courses may meet GMP Intercultural Perspectives.
  • First-Year Integrated Core (BUS 101, BUS 102, ESP 103, BUS 104) satisfies GMP Experiential Learning.
