Luxembourg Digital Innovation Program

The Luxembourg Digital Innovation Program (LDI) is an opportunity for students to get real-world experience during their time at Miami while also receiving class credit. During the program, students will spend four days a week at an internship, one day a week visiting local startups and companies, continued networking with alumni and business leaders in their respective city, and also complete a unique client-focused senior capstone project.

This immersive program is ideal for students who want a full-time experience outside of the summer internship season and who want to increase the number of connections they have prior to post-graduate job searching. We focus the LDI on the unique digital economy of Luxembourg. Luxembourg hosts the “Technoport”: a major startup incubator, FinTech hub and co-working lab, where much of Lux’s digital startup activity is housed. But it also is the home for Amazon as well as all the major consulting firms (e.g. Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PWC etc.). We propose having a portfolio of internship opportunities, from Biotech to Consulting, that span the Miami Experience, all centered around emerging technology and all leveraging Miami’s deep roots and relationships in Luxembourg.

Architecture Program

The MUDEC Architecture and Interior Design Cohort allows students to continue their architecture and interior design studies in Luxembourg. Each fall semester, architecture and interior design students study with fellow Miamians in a 15th century château and live with local host families. Professors include both Miami faculty and design professionals living in Luxembourg. Students experience the local culture firsthand and have multiple travel opportunities across Europe, including a "study tour" course that includes a 5-day-long field trip to another European country.

Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health (KNH)

Each fall semester the Kinesiology, Nutrition and Health department offers the opportunity for a group of students to live and learn in Luxembourg with department faculty. Students are able to complete required coursework in their major and in the Miami Global Plan. Possible collaboration also exists with a neighboring university that focuses on health, exercise and sports.

The semester abroad provides a unique global experience to explore kinesiology, nutrition and health in Europe while living and engaging with the Luxembourg culture and community. Students will have multiple travel opportunities across Europe to enhance their global citizenship.
